Support to help our people meet everyday living needs

The Healthy Living Payment helps Yilka members with the cost of essential living needs - like food, household goods, travel, or supplies for work and wellbeing. This annual payment is available to eligible members each December and is loaded to a VASCO card or issued as vouchers.

The payment is tiered by age group, with larger amounts for older members. If you’ve taken part in cultural activities, lived on Country, or supported community throughout the year, you may be eligible for a full payment.

Purpose
The purpose of the Healthy Living Payment is to increase the living standards of YTAC Members by providing financial support to access living essentials.

Eligibility
To be eligible for this benefit you must be a valid YTAC Member as of 31 December each year. Age brackets are calculated as at 31 December each year.
Benefit
Benefit payable will depend on your eligibility
Basic payment
  • 18–29 years: $2,000
  • 30–49 years: $3,000
  • 50+ years: $6,000
Full payment
  • 18–29 years: $2,000
  • 30–49 years: $3,000
  • 50+ years: $6,000

Payable: December each year Loaded on VASCO or vouchers (as requested by YTAC Members)

Payment Criteria
To receive the full payment, members must meet at least one of the eligibility criteria listed. If no criteria are met, the basic payment will apply.
Basic Payment

A member will receive the basic payment if:

  1. it is their first 12 months of membership with the Corporation; or
  2. they do not meet the eligibility criteria for the full payment during the calendar year.
Full Payment

To receive the full payment, a member must, during the calendar year, meet at least one of the following:

  1. predominantly lived in the Determination Area;
  2. attended at least one General Meeting;
  3. attended a trip or event within the Determination Area, organised or endorsed by the Corporation;
  4. confirmed participation in cultural activities associated with their Apical Ancestor within the Determination Area; or
  5. actively engaged in the business of the Corporation.
Conditions
The Healthy Living Payment is uploaded to VASCO and can only be used on Charitable Purposes. It cannot be used for excluded items (see below table)

  • Food and groceries
  • Travel and accommodation
  • Items to support your family or community
  • Items that improve your employment prospects or personal development
  • Items that improve your health and wellbeing
  • Items relating to your education and training
  • Items relating to relief of poverty; older members, illness or distress
What can't funds be used for?
  • Alcohol, Cigarettes, Illicit drugs
  • Gambling or lotto tickets
  • Adult material
  • Donations to government or political parties
